I am on day 4 of 1st post chemo session and I feel dreadful, going from your experience how long does the nausea last, its just been 4 days. I know I have a long tough journey alee but any communication yous can requite would be most welcome. Thank you

Hello,
im just nearly to have circular 5 of chemo and all I can say is everyone reacts so differently to information technology. I have never had nausea, just tiredness, aching basic, tickley cough and sore throat. I think it also depends on the type of chemo ur having and the type of cancer you take. My symptoms after the get-go chemo lasted nearly a calendar week then only a few days afterwards the others. Some people really endure, some people fly through it. I ended up in infirmary after every chemo the first iii times as my allowed system was so depression. All I can advise is eat well, residuum and drink ridiculous amounts of water and you should exist fine. Practiced luck xx

Hi Carole, It varies and so much, some breeze through with few furnishings others like my hubby, suffer a lot. Your oncologist should be able to prescribe medication to help with the nausea and other side effects. I know hubby takes two differnce anti-nausea medications constantly. Hi there,

I am on my second lot of flot and tin can honestly say I'one thousand dreading the 3rd. The first I had sickness and diareah for v days until the right anti sickness was plant. After the 6th day I was dorsum to normal. Second lot I haven't been sick merely constantly feel sick no appetite and still have diareah . Have no energy and merely want to sleep .I do go for a walk everyday and endeavour and behave on as normal as I can and the information technology just gets me and I feel so poorly again. Any advise would exist not bad x

Ask them about Loperamide for the diarrhoea, that's what my oncologist gave me in case I had whatsoever problems with diarrhoea. I've only had to have it once and information technology really seemed to work just, yous never know, it could just be chance.

Hi all,
My mom just started her first chemotheraphy session (cisplatin and etoposide) last Wednesday and since Thursday on she started throwing up non-stop.She was given Metroclopramide at home but she was unable to even have a sip of water without throwing up so that was a no no.Nosotros rushed her to the hospital on Sun equally she could not eat or drinkable anything and was very pale. And even today she is still in hospital with fluids,nutrients and paracetamol fed through her veins.It'due south at present been a week since che started having nausea,airsickness and a feeling of her stomach twisting.Did anyone else experience this and how long does information technology usually have to recover?

I had chemo 20 yrs ago for breast cancer and can't remember it being as bad every bit I'grand feeling with this latest chemo for bowel cancer. I tin can't rally myself to practise anything. I ended upwardly in infirmary with diviticulitis after the start session. Had very bad side furnishings. The second session I almost went into anaphylacus which actually terrified. Am now on tablets simply but they give me gripping pains in my tummy. Sometimes diarrhoea sometimes bloating and constipation. No fun. Have five sessions to go. Want to give up but know I can't. So how long to return to normal depends on then many things. I send my love to everybody going through this.

I have just completed 4 cycles, including cisplatin, and as well experienced similar effects. The stomach twisting was combined with swelling which affected my entire digestive system, creating constant nausea &vomiting. I found taking Buscapan 4 times a solar day, prescribed by my oncologist, essential, and information technology has helped a lot. My mums merely had her first lot of chemo session , we're on day 7-10 which they said would be the worst.
